One of the most rewarding types of workouts to attain a more peaceful state of mind is hitting the heavy bag, working the speed bag & shadow boxing
My yearly workouts are not strictly for the sake of keeping healthy. I certainly want to keep physically fit & hope to offset the drawbacks of growing older. I hope to keep up my strength, balance, flexibility & range of motion. I’d prefer to avoid unnecessary physical ailments & weight gain. It’s a priority to me to remain toned & attractive. However, I’ve realized that a strenuous workout is also an ideal method of alleviating stress. Whether I’m concerned about tasks at work, worrying over finances or angry with someone, exercise is a helpful way of calming myself. I am able to work out all the aggression & achieve a more positive mindset. On the days when I’m feeling especially ugly, depressed or worried, I target high intensity cardio workouts. I might head out on a long run or try wind sprints to blow off steam. I like to swim laps, ride my bicycle or jump rope. The fresh air & sun offers a great opportunity to clear my head & pay more attention to the world around me. Cardio workouts work to get my heart really pounding & I work up a thorough sweat. I feel so much better after I’ve managed to get out of breath & forced my lungs to work harder. I notice the surge of feel-good endorphins. Following the workout, I am typically in a much more positive mood. I have even been successful at using exercise to get rid of tension headaches. One of the most rewarding types of workouts to attain a more peaceful state of mind is hitting the heavy bag, working the speed bag & shadow boxing. All of these maneuvers require total focus. They encourage me to hone in on a target & release all of the negative emotions.
